Embracing the flow and finding balance
Errol Robinson, an 83-year-old with a complex medical history, joined Moonah Park in November 2023. Upon arrival, Errol needed staff supervision and a 4-wheeled walker for mobility.
With a proactive attitude, Errol embraced the on-site gym, participating in a physiotherapist-assessed and supervised exercise program twice weekly. These tailored exercises help manage his joint pain, improve mobility, and strengthen his overall physical condition.
Beyond physical exercise, Errol dives into various activities organised by the lifestyle team, from social events to cognitive stimulation sessions.
Exploring Errol's past, we learned he was a Tai Chi trainer and skilled magician. Recognizing his talents, the Moonah Park team could see how engaging and beneficial they could be to Errol and others.
Now, Errol leads Tai Chi classes for fellow residents every fortnight, providing physical exercise and mental relaxation. His expertise and enthusiasm make these classes a highlight for everyone involved.
With his physiotherapy sessions, Tai Chi leadership, and the care team's support, Errol now moves around without any mobility aid, enjoying his daily routine at Moonah Park Aged Care!
Errol's journey is a testament to the power of proactive involvement and the supportive community at Moonah Park.
