Completed in August 2024, this development comprises 40 long-term community housing units for seniors and 10 Specialist Disability Accommodation (SDA) units for eligible NDIS participants.
Banksia Apartments is Churches of Christ Housing Services Limited’s second and largest mixed-tenure development, offering one SDA unit for every four community housing units. Delivered in partnership with the Queensland Government, the 40 community housing units were initially tenanted using an under-occupancy strategy that offered seniors living in large public housing properties the opportunity to downsize to a more manageable, low maintenance home.
Located on the Churches of Christ Little Mountain integrated campus, residents benefit from access to an on-site café, auditorium and pool. Churches of Christ also offers residential aged care and home care services from the campus, giving residents the opportunity to access additional support as they age.
Banksia Apartments offers SDA tenants a 24/7 concierge service delivered by partner agency Get Going Support, in turn providing SDA residents convenient access to non-emergency support when they require it.
